Ellen Jerstad (b. 1989) she/her, is a performer, director, scenographer, and playwright whose work interweaves themes of ecology, mythology, and speculative storytelling. With degrees in dance and theatre from Høyskolen for Dansekunst, the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, and the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, she completed her master’s in theatre at KHIO in 2023. Jerstad’s performances often creates immersive, sensory-driven landscapes that exploring transformation, interconnectedness, and longing to be part of a whole. She has recently commissioned for Teater Innlandet and Unge Viken Teater, and coproduced with Ultimafestivalen, Dansens Hus and Vega Scene. As driving fource behind Øy, she works to challenging conventional narratives and redefining contemporary performance.
